![]() ![]() ![]() Please make X-Rebirth VR a real VR experience! ![]() It doesn't make sense to implement interactive 3D objects, if any player who uses them instead of mapping functions on a controller button is disadvantaged. If a player chooses to play the game real (with real controls) you should slow down battles to get time for realtime actions. Real VR games must be much SLOWER than games played with mouse and keyboard, because you need more time to stand up and reach out with your arm grabbing a lever, instead of pressing a button on your gamepad. VR is about physical and social interaction until you really feel, you live in the game. ![]() VR is not about pressing buttons with pointers instead of a mouse. Maybe some races like it when you touch their *** and give you a discount if you do it good, but others would kill you for it. And please forget the annoying minigames, but give those NPCs reactions when we try to physically interact. We have motion control, so let us stand up, lay down on the floor and use our hands to do things!ĭEAR EGOSOFT, if you want to build a real VR experience, make it SMALLER! Limit stations to platforms full of interactive objects and give us an Albion Skunk, where we can stand up from the pilot seat and do things with our hands on various controls, that are interactive 3D objects and not only a flat texture. No VR player should need to press any controller buttons to crouch, jump and open boxes. It's not the point of a VR game to walk kilometers thru long corridors of boring stations by pressing touchpad buttons and getting motion sick of the jerky movements. The story tells us, that the Skunk is a legend. Games like Elite, where you can fly many different space ships can maybe build on overlay controls to save development costs, but X-Rebirth with it's one ship concept absolutely must highlight that one ship with a fully functional interior. This would be real VR experience, not just to see a flat overlay menu with a warning and an okay button in front of you, that you must click with your pointer like with a mouse.Īll I have seen yet is a 3D version of XR with a non functional cockpit texture and overlayed desktop controls that just float anywhere in the air. If your engine catches fire, you should see a red lamp blinking on your instrument panel in 3D (illuminating half of the cockpit in red) and find a big handle of a fire extinguisher near by that you can grab with your hand and pull. But now, flying by gestures with a VIVE motion controller around stations is so much smoother than anything you can do with a touchpad.Ī real VR game must give the player a feeling of immersion with an interactive (best roomscale) cockpit full of functioning controls. I loved flying by stick in X3 and I hated the gamepad flying in X-Rebirth. I just checked out X-Rebith VR at a friend and must say, it is not a VR game yet, but it is a great opportunity to become one. Please make that ship interactive with lots of clickable and touchable objects that should of course be labelled, intuitively understandable and placed where a pilot expects them to be. Nobody needs virtual menues when you can just touch things in a virtual cockpit. Please add more clickable buttons in the cockpit and forget all the popup menues! Add a switch for the autopilot on the arm rest, some buttons on the cockpit's middle console instead of the unfunctional keyboard to open up the console screen and sector map, some buttons above our head to bring down that kind of periscope and control the drones, etc. Why so complicated?ĭear devs, you already did it with the clickable missile screen. In X Rebirth VR we have an amazing field of view and sit in a 360° cockpit euipped with lots of screens and switches but we must still press controller buttons to open virtual menues with virtual buttons that must be clicked again with the green laser beam. ![]()
